Fickle minded people

The state of having an often changing mind is called as fickle mindedness. Fluctuating thoughts are peculiar to this quality. It’s like you are having choices and you decide to opt for the first one and then suddenly you switch to the other and then again to the first. At some point of life, this proves to be helpful as it lets one decide according to the pros and cons of the choices, but very rarely. At times, it proves to be dangerous too. It can be understood better by an example— you ought to go to two places at the same time, you have confirmed tickets and the two trains depart at the same time. The two places are in entirely different direction. You are on the railway station and you opt to go to one place and board the train and then you think you should be in the other train and you get out of the train. On the way to board the other train, you think you should have been in the first one. In all these messy thoughts, you are able to decide where you are meant to be, but only when you have missed both the trains. You lose all your money and even your plan for outing goes to bin. It appears to be comical but things like this can happen in real life and they do happen. The reason is the fickle state of mind. This quality is indeed very damaging. It’s an unnoticed weakness that almost everyone has. It’s like having your feet in two boats and ultimately drowning or being in a battlefield and wondering if you should fight or not. Extroverts are believed to be more fickle minded than introverts since the latter can think well and are able to decide and be firm on a decision but ,no doubt, exceptions do exist. Also, confidence lacking people are more fickle than confident people. The quality of having a stable mind need to be inculcated as most of the people repent later for being fickle minded. Almost everyone goes through this state of mind at one or the other point of life but some are fickle minded throughout their lives. Meditation and prayer can help in bringing the stability of mind.
